How to join

Five steps. Same five every time, whatever we're playing.

1. Get on the network

   Everything here lives behind Tailscale, a free app that puts your computer on our private network. Install it, then ask an admin to send you an invite. It will not work until you've been invited.

   Keep Tailscale connected the whole time you're playing. If you close it, you drop off the server.

2. Get the game

   You need to own the game we're playing. Buy it, install it, launch it once so it finishes setting itself up. Nothing below works until that's done.

3. Match the setup

   If a server below lists a modpack, you need the exact same pack at the exact same version. Not close. The same. A mismatch is the single most common reason someone can't connect.

4. Connect

   Copy the address for the server you want and paste it into the game's "add server" or "join by IP" box.

5. If it doesn't work

   Three things, in this order. It's almost always one of them.

   1. Is Tailscale connected? Open it and check it says connected, not just installed.
   2. Does your version match? Same pack, same version number, character for character.
   3. Did the address paste cleanly? No spaces, no missing digits, no extra colon.

   Still stuck? Ask in Discord and say which of the three you already checked.

House rules

• Don't grief the base

  Someone spent four hours on that. Borrowing is fine. Arson is not.

• Say something before you change a gamerule

  Flipping keepInventory at 2am without telling anyone is a personality choice.

• If it's down, it's probably the laptop

  Not you. Not your internet. The laptop. Give it a minute and try again.
